Tyler Watamanuk is a writer and producer. Currently, he is a contributing style writer for GQ , and writes and produces the design newsletter Prune for Dirt Media. (He previously wrote the Sitting Pretty column/newsletter for Dwell and Meta’s Bulletin.)
He lives in New York’s Hudson River Valley and writes about design, style, and culture. (Also, some humor.) His first book, Bigger Than Fashion: How Streetwear Conquered Culture, is forthcoming from Simon & Schuster (2025).
His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest, Vice, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, and others. He contributed text to The Men’s Fashion Book (Phaidon).
Prior to writing, he was a touring musician and then spent a decade working at ad agencies.
